Up To My Ears in Video

OK, so I’ve broken Rule #1 of the blogger’s handbook, “Thou shalt post to your blog on a regular basis.” Sorry, faithful readers but I haven’t been able to keep up. Two reasons:

1. I haven’t had much to say about SEO lately, and, more importantly,

2. I’ve been busy developing a completely new side of our online business (www.linknet-promotions.com), namely the video side.

I know, I know, everybody and his brother says video is really big and tremendously important, and a fantastic marketing opportunity. So all the gurus say it is critical to get on the video bandwagon (even though they often don’t use it properly themselves.)

Fact is, I came to this conclusion about 7 years ago, outfitted myself with thousands of dollars of video production equipment, and set about learning how to do online videos. But the time just wasn’t right. Not enough people with broadband, and certainly no free video sharing outlets like Youtube, Revver, Metacafe and all the rest. So I gave it a rest. Every now and then I’d move my expensive video equipment from one corner of the basement to another, or play around with the editing and encoding software to put our family Christmas online.

Things are completely different now so I’m going to give it another go. This time I’ve got a serious plan of attack.

With Linknet we create articles and blog posts for clients to help them build links, search engine exposure, and traffic. With the Linknet video service we will be creating videos for clients. The purpose is to give them videos they can use on their sites, that we can use on our sites, and post in various forms on Youtube and numerous other video sharing sites in order to generate traffic.
