@Liane YoungBlogger - Hi Lianne. Thanks for the visit, and yes, of course I agree completely. Often the best posts are just your own ideas - things you have reflected on or things that have been bugging you, or just pop into your head, or something someone said at the coffee shop or on the golf course. But when these sources run dry, it is good just to pull an idea from Youtube or whatever.

And I'm not just talking about copying something someone else said. If you look at Twitter you see all kinds of people using famous quotes as their tweets. To me that always makes me think, "Doesn't this person have anything original to say?"

When I say "Here are some sources for blog posts", what I mean is "Here are some sources that can suggest ideas or original comment." Even when embedding a video an "engaged" blogger will add his/her own comment or tell us why it seems worth including...

You have mentioned a lot of big player sites and it's really true. Ideas are so abundant from these places. However, tiny little things can give content ideas too. I for one can just think of a new post via reading my comments or flipping thru my mails. Just my 2 cents. :)
