This can be a little confusing. Are we talking about providing marketing ideas and products for local business – techniques and systems that, say, a local chiropractor, plumber, dentist or real estate agent might use to promote his or her business?
Or are we talking about marketing ideas and products aimed at local business – for instance, say you’re a marketer and you want to sell promotional products and services to plumbers, chiropractors, dentists, real estate agents, etc.?
The answer is both.
Local businesses need promotional products, techniques and systems – for example, website building, search engine optimization, pay per click advertising management, email marketing, etc. – and we talk about those here, as well as offer such products and services. There is no reason why local businesses cannot administer these functions in-house with their own staff.
No reason except a serious lack of time and resources. Finding staff who are knowledgeable in web-related marketing is not easy. There is a tendency – at least at the local level – for in-house staff to be under-appreciated and under-paid.
